Willie Garson was born in Highland Park, New Jersey, in February 1964 to parents Muriel and Donald M. Paszamant. After graduating from Highland Park High School in 1982, he attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut for his undergrad education, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater. He went on to attend the Yale Drama School for his master’s degree.
The character actor was best known for his roles on NYPD Blue and Sex and the City, but also made appearances on Twin Peaks, Monk, Boy Meets World, Girl Meets World, Ally McBeal, Pushing Daisies and White Collar.
On the big screen, Garson starred in 1998’s There’s Something About Mary and 2005’s Fever Pitch before reprising his role as Stanford Blatch in the two Sex and the City films (which debuted in 2008 and 2010, respectively).
The former CSI: Miami star adopted a son, Nathen, in the late 2000s. In September 2021, Nathen announced via social that his father died at age 57. His obituary later revealed that he was battling pancreatic cancer.
