How to Make Special Pokeballs

The Johto region added Apricorn Pokeballs, one of the coolest features to the Pokémon series and they are making a return in The Isle of Armor DLC.

These special Pokeballs gave trainers a better chance at catching certain Pokémon, but in later generations became a great way to showcase your Pokémon in battle. In Sword and Shield, having Pokémon in special Pokeballs is on full display in the Dynamax cutscene in battles.

While the Apricorn Pokeballs were limited to mystery gifts and the Pokeball Guy giving one of each during the story to trainers, The Isle of Armor DLC gives trainers more opportunities to get more.

Trainers will need access to the Cram-o-Matic machine and a little luck, but the Apricorn Pokeballs can be crafted in the DLC. Here's a handy guide to help you do it.

HOW TO OBTAIN APRICORNS

Apricorns can be found as a hidden item on the floor usually near trees. You can also find some by shaking berry trees, but that's not guaranteed.

There is also an NPC who will give you four apricorn in exchange for 100 Watts. However, her location on The Isle of Armor changes every day and the apricorn she gives is random.

CREATING APRICORN POKEBALLS

To create Apricorn Pokeballs, trainers will need to use the Cram-o-Matic in the main dojo. You'll gain access to the Cram-o-Matic by talking to Hyde (Honey's son) in the dojo and give him the Watts he needs to power his machine.

Once the Cram-o-Matic is up and running, you can feed it up to four items to have it spit out a new item.

In regards to the Apricorn Pokeballs, trainers simply have to feed it up to four of the color-specific apricorns to receive one of the special Pokeballs. However, the Pokeball that is spit out depends on the color of the apricorn and is random. The more apricorns you put in, the higher the chance of getting an Apricorn Pokeball.

Trainers can put different colored apricorn in the mix at the same time, but the odds of which Pokeball comes out will be split. For example, if you put two apricorn (one of each color) the odds of getting a Pokeball from their group will be 50 percent.

Here's a list of the Pokeballs created by feeding the Cram-o-Matic apricorns with the percentage of when they appear.
