GRANITE CITY, Ill. – A Granite City police officer was shot in the line of duty while responding to a call. Granite City Police Major Gary Brooks told FOX 2 that the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but the suspect is still on the loose and authorities believe he is armed. The Illinois State Police are taking the lead in the investigation. They said that the shooting happened in the alleyway at 25th and Delmar.
